Quesnel RCMP make multiple arrests following seizure of drugs, cash, and illegal cigarettes

The Quesnel RCMP Crime Reduction Unit arrested two men after drug investigations.

Staff Sergeant, Richard Weseen says Police made the first arrest on May 30th, after they conducted two search warrants on a residence and holiday trailer following a drug trafficking investigation.

“The search resulted in the seizure of 170 grams of cocaine, 105 cartons of illegal cigarettes, and assorted ammunition and cash.” says Weseen.

“A Quesnel man was arrested at the scene, and later released pending charge assessment by the Crown.”

Back on May 31st, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Front Street and observed a Quesnel man driving while prohibited, and had used drug paraphernalia and illegal cigarettes in the vehicle.

After a drug investigation, police seized 388 grams of methamphetamine, 102 grams of fentanyl, 50 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of heroin and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

The man was charged with driving while prohibited pending charge assessment by the Crown for drug related charges.

Weseen says they’re committed reducing community harm by targeting drug traffickers that prey on the vulnerable for their own personal gain.
