A rally in support of Quesnel-area First Nations is set for later today (Tuesday).
The event, called “For Truth and Reconciliation – Enough Is Enough” recognizes the Lhtako and Lhoosk’uz Dene Nations as well as the Nazko and the Esdilagh First Nations.
It is scheduled to begin at 4:30 at the Nazko band office parking lot on Barlow Avenue near the West Fraser Centre.
It will continue with a walk to City Hall prior to the start at tonight’s (Tuesday) meeting at 5:30pm.
Back in March, Pat Morton, the wife of Quesnel Mayor Ron Paull distributed a controversial book on native residential schools called “Grave Error-How the Media Misled Us”.
The book was quickly condemned by Mayor and Council along with the Board of Education.
