Quesnel Fire Fighters respond to electrical fire

The Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential fire over the weekend.

Fire Chief Ron Richert says the call came in just before 8 o’clock on Sunday (Dec 10) morning to a home on Dawson Street in the Uplands area.

“Upon arrival our duty officer noticed the ceiling fan in the bathroom had some electrical issues and fire fighters had to breach into the attic area for a little bit of fire extension.”

Richert says “it definitely could have developed into something, but they were able to get into there quickly and suppress any fire damage.”

He says they used a small amount of water and had to to do some overhaul and pull out some of the Gyprock.

Richert says no one was hurt.

He says they were on scene for a couple of house with 3 trucks and approximately 15 fire fighters.
