Teepee Lake Area In The Nazko Region Issued An Evacuation Order

An Evacuation Order has been issued by the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre for the Teepee Lake area.

The order affects 293 parcels and covers 71,161 hectares.

The CRD said this order is replacing the entirety of the Teepee Lake Evacuation Alert issued on July 10th at 9 pm, and the Pelican Lake Area Evacuation.

Evacuation route:  Head south and then east on Nazko Road/Blackwater Road/North Fraser Drive until you reach Quesnel.

An Evacuation Alert has also now been issued for the Rainbow Lake area.

That covers 83 properties in the Nazko region.

Earlier today the Cariboo Regional District Emergency Operations Centre gave an update on Evacuation Orders and Alerts.

“As of right now right, excluding the Rainbow Lake area, we have 105 people on Evacuation Order. This covers 972 properties and 66 known houses. This area covers over 240,600 hectares.” Gerald Pinchbeck Public Information Officer with the Cariboo Regional District said, “Again excluding the Rainbow lake Alert, we have 130 people on alert and 152 properties subject to those alerts with 76 dwellings and this covers 43,492 hectares.”
