Tomorrow (June 21st) is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and the beginning of the summer.
Will we in the Cariboo be celebrating it’s arrival in shorts and t-shirts?
“It will be pretty typical when it comes to the start of Summer.” Terri Lang, Meteorologist with Environment Canada said, “We’re in a bit of an unsettled pattern which means there is a good chance os showers, thundershowers. Temperatures are going are going to be fairly close to 30 year averages, highs around 22 and overnight lows around 8.”
Lang noted that this very typical for this time of year in the Region as June is one of those unsettled months.
“We kinda call it junuary trying to get in some of those rains and showers that we need to get us through the drier part of the Summer which is July and August.”
Lang added towards the end of the week the Region will start to clear with a ridge of pressure moving in with temperatures ranging in the mid 20’s.
