Williams Lake Fire Department Open House a success

The Williams Lake Fire Department was the place to be, as they held their yearly open house.

Cars could be seen lined up along the road, with little to no parking to be found, with people scattered across the department grounds.

“Community feedback is always great, I always have lots of parents coming up to me saying that their kids look forward to this event every single year.” says Kayla Topping, Firefighter.

“I mean, it’s very kid orientated here. You have firefighters course, you got a dunk tank, you got cotton candy, bouncy house, and of course the big major attraction is all the firetrucks.”

BC Wildfire, along with the Sheriffs, 150 and Wildwood Fire Department, and BC Ambulance were also attended the open house.

As for anything that Topping would like to see improved upon, she says it would be nice to come up with more interesting flavours for the cotton candy machine.
