A Quesnel man, convicted of murder in Whitehorse, has been denied an appeal.
Edward James Penner, 22 at the time, was found guilty of first degree murder in September of 2019.
He was sentenced to life in prison was no chance of parole for 25 years.
Penner initially indicated that he planned to appeal but the Yukon Appeal Court has now issued a dismissal for want of prosecution, which essentially means that the plaintiff has done nothing to move the case forward in a timely manner.
Penner was charged in connection with the death of 25-year old Adam Cormack, who’s body was found in a forested area near Whitehorse in June of 2017.
