With both Liberal and New Democratic Parties recently unveiling their platforms in regards to Senate reform versus abolition, it was the Member of Parliament for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo’s turn.
Cathy McLeod won’t deny abolition completely but thinks reform is a much more feasible goal especially given how much support would be required to allow constitutional reform.
McLeod lists the contributions of Conservative Senator Nancy Greene-Raine as just one of the reasons why the Senate would be worth reforming.
The Liberals also favor reform while New Democrats would seek to abolish the beleaguered upper chamber should they form government.
Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
