The craft beer industry in BC is raising a glass thanks to some additional access in government liquor stores starting today.
Breweries in Prince Rupert, Terrace, Barkerville, Valemount and Prince George are now allowed to sell directly into the six closest outlets.
BC Craft Breweries Guild Executive Director, Ken Beattie says the move to promote more local products has been in the works for a while.
“We’ve been asking the liquor store to promote “buy local” we are in over 50 communities in BC, they are independent entrepreneurs who have provincially owned businesses that create jobs.”
Beattie adds craft breweries are pushing for the same kind of acknowledgement as VQA wineries in BC.
