Very close to record-setting temperatures in the Cariboo yesterday as the heat wave continued for a fifth day.
Environment Canada’s Philippe-Alain Bergeron tells us how close we got to a daily record for July 30th…
“So we have had quite hot temperatures today as expected, just a little shy of the daily records for the 30th of July. So Williams Lake we have 33.2 and the high that was set in 1971 was 33.9….and in Quesnel it was 34.6 today and the record high for this date is 35.6, that was also set in 1971.”
Bergeron says today will be the last hot day with a high of 31 anticipated for Quesnel and 29 for Williams Lake.
He says things will then start to cool off by tomorrow and Bergeron says the high by the end of the week will only be in the low 20’s.
