Volunteers who worked tirelessly during last years wildfire evacuations in 100 Mile House and area recieved a big thank you from the district on the anniversary of the first evacuation orders.
The district of 100 Mile held a volunteer appreciation event in Centennial Park July 7th, with members of the 100 Mile Volunteer Fire Department on hand cooking burgers.
Mayor Mitch Campsall was on hand as well as district Councillors, and MLA Donna Barnett.
Mayor Campsall said “These volunteers stepped into place and just worked and worked and worked.” “These people worked for 72 days straight. Never took a day off. All I can say is thank you.”
