Canada’s largest distributor of industrial supplies closed its’ doors Friday in Williams Lake after proudly serving the community for 35 years.
Acklands-Grainger said in a media statement like many retailers and distributors, it takes an increasing number of orders online and by phone shipping majority of orders to customers directly from major distribution.
“Our business is evolving along with changing customer preferences. We have invested heavily in distribution capability, systems and e-commerce – all with an aim of serving customers the way they want to be served,” said Dave Lagoner, vice-president and general manager, Acklands-Grainger.
“With these investments, we have also made the difficult decision to reduce cost in the channels customers use less frequently.”
The closure of Acklands-Grainger branch results in the departure of two team members.
Acklands-Grainger said it still remains active in the Williams Lake community through a team of local sales and service representatives.
