Last Rec Center Open House Draws Large Crowd

The fourth and final open house on the South Cariboo Recreation Center Expansion was held last night in 100 Mile House.
Before the meeting a rally was held outside the hall in support of building a pool in the community as opposed to the options being considered for the expansion.

Approximately 100 people were in attendance at the meeting, and after the presentation by the project planning committee, voiced their concerns and support for the project.

Some concerns raised were the possibility that a pool might be a larger draw for the community, and the fact that the present agriplex would be removed, leaving the town with no indoor riding arena. Those in support of the project pointed out that it is more cost effective, and would possibly be a stepping stone to a pool addition in the future.

The feedback recieved in all four open house meetings will be considered and presented at the joint CRD and District of 100 Mile House meeting this Friday.
