Two-Vehicle MVI results in Multiple Injuries

Multiple injuries were sustained in a motor vehicle incident north of 100 Mile House Saturday evening.

100 Mile Fire Rescue confirmed on their Facebook page Sunday that they assisted 108 Mile Fire Department with a two vehicle motor incident at Hickling Road and that four people were extricated.

“There were three occupants inside the south bound truck and two occupants inside the north bound truck and each occupant of both vehicles were injured. 100 Mile House and 108 Fire Department attended and actually had to use specialized equipment to free the occupants from both vehicles,” says RCMP Cpl. Brian Lamb.

Lamb says a 16-year-old passenger of the south bound truck was later transported to Vancouver Children’s Hospital with what are believed to be very serious injuries and the driver of the North bound truck was taken to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops also with what are believed to be serious injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

Many users on social media reported of black ice and the roads being extremely icy at the time.
