tips for dealing with urban deer now on city of williams lake website

A brochure to help residents discourage deer from becoming a nuisance in their neighbourhoods is now available on the City of Williams Lake website.

Gary Muraca, Director of Municipal Services for the City of Williams Lake explains how it came about.

“It was based on questions and concerns raised from residents last year. We wanted to compile some useful tip and information about deer in our area. Residents were concerned about how deer interacted with animals, small children and how they were eating their foliage”.

Deer can transport ticks, harm pets, attract large predators and once they establish themselves in a neighbourhood it can be difficult to remove them.

Tips and safety measures in the brochure can be viewed on the City’s website.
