With the weather getting colder and colder more homeless people find themselves looking for shelter.
Night to Light Freedom to Transition is new in 100 Mile House and will be providing men in the area shelter in a safe, positive, substance free environment via a home located on Horse Lake Road.
Daniel McCollum, founder of Night to Light lets us know how this all got started.
“So I started talking to a few people in the community and I said do you guys want to start a non-profit and open up a house. What Night to Light is a helping hand up, we are not a treatment centre, we are not a hospital, we just a helping hand.”
McCollum says that along with shelter the men will be offered basic skills training such as how to read a tape measure properly as well as building a relationship with other members of the community.
The Night to Light home opens on November.4th and they are taking donations of clothes, toothbrushes, and anything else that may help provide benefit to homeless and at risk men in the area.
