Four individuals have been arrested for night hunting.
“RCMP received a complaint on Highway 20 West of Williams Lake not that far that there were two shots fired into a field of one of the ranches,” said Inspector of the Thompson-Cariboo Conservation Office Len Butler.
“They responded, the landowners were out there, held them at their vehicle, and it was five individuals that had shot a deer in the field at night probably around 2:30 in the morning”.
Butler said he went out with the landowners and located the deer that was shot off the highway on private property that was posted.
The search continues for the fifth individual that fled the scene.
