A coordinated effort by members of the RCMP in Williams Lake has led to 16 charges being laid against nine people under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
Corporal Madonna Saunderson explains what happened; “Williams Lake RCMP certainly had an impact on the local drug traffickers , they’ve had several investigations over the last few months with combinations from the plain clothes members, uniform members and police dog services. Nine individuals have been charged with multiple drug trafficking offences.”
Seven of the nine have been arrested while two, 31 year old Ashley Pigeon and 29 year old Dustin Poudrier remain at large with outstanding warrants.
Others charged in the crackdown that began in June include Gurinder Aulakh, James Nelson, Cody Wilkinson, Gabriel Billy, Rena Maye Leon, Jesse Rudichuk and Peter Murtagh.
Those already picked up will appear in court at a later date.
