Garlic doesn’t draw vampires, but it does draw huge crowds every year to Lac La Hache.
The 17th Annual South Cariboo Garlic Festival is taking place this weekend and we asked Festival Director Jeanette McCrea if she’s noticed an increase in the size of the crowds showing up over the years.
“From the first year that we did it in 2010 we had like twenty-five hundred people and last year was over forty-five hundred”.
So with it being the 17th annual has interest grown in vendors wanting to be a part of it.
“Yea there’s more and more new people coming in, like some of the older ones are getting older and have health issues and what not so they’re cutting back so then I’ve new people coming in, word spreads”.
The South Cariboo Garlic Festival in La La Hahce runs today nine til five and tomorrow from nine to four.
