This weekend’s garlic festival in the South Cariboo will have a different added flavor to their event.
The Cariboo Regional District will have an Official Community Plans Update booth on site manned by CRD elected officials, staff and Consultants.
CRD Chair and Electoral Area G Director Al Richmond explains what they’ll be doing and why.
“It’s an opportunity to engage more people who might not normally come out to a public meeting. Perhaps also some of our summer residents who come here less frequently when we have meetings, an opportunity for them to provide their input so they’ll be able to pick up some brochures, they’ll be able to chat with some of our planning staff and the consultant that we hired to assist us in doing this work”.
Earlier this year the CRD launched the process to update the Official Community Plans for the Lac La Hache and South Cariboo Area.
Over 160 people completed the surveys and provided feedback and local information.
Richmond is hoping even more people will take part in this by stopping at their booth this weekend at the South Cariboo Garlic Festival
