This morning the Member of Parliament for the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo, Cathy McLeod released findings of a riding-wide survey on electoral reform stemming from reports that the current government is looking to change the way we vote.
McLeod gives us the results of the survey.
She says she was surprised to see an Ipsos-Reid poll in May of this year had similar results, finding that 73% of Canadians “agree” that the Liberals should not make changes to Canada’s election system without holding a national referendum to get the public’s approval for the changes.
Near the end of August, McLeod will be speaking directly with residents in forums, round-tables, and community events throughout the riding regarding electoral reform as well as the economy and other federal issues.
Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
