Rugby fans and proud supporters of the Lake City’s Olympic hero, Kayla Moleschi can watch the Women’s Rugby 7’s this weekend from Rio on the big screen in Council Chambers.
Jason Ryll is not only a Williams Lake City Councillor, he’s also heavily involved in the sport of rugby so we asked him how this idea came about.
“We had a number of players approach me and ask if the city was going to do anything to drum up some support for kayla and we thought yeah absolutely. And so we thought the best thing for us was to open up the city council chambers and invite the community to come and watch and cheer on our hometown athlete”.
Canada plays this morning at 8:30 against Japan and this afternoon at 1:30 versus Brazil.
Game three of the round robin series goes tomorrow at 8:30 when Canada takes on Great Britain.
Ryll says they’ll continue to stream the games live as long as Canada does well and he sees no reason why they won’t.
