A record number of merchants will be taking part in the 2016 edition of Art Walk and Sale in Williams Lake.
Now through September 6th a total of 63 downtown businesses will be exhibiting art forms ranging from black smithing to carving.
For the past five years, Willie Dye, also known as Arty The Artwalker has been one of the main Organizers of this event and he tells how he got involved.
“A young lady came to my store and asked if I wanted to be in art walk as a business, so I said tell me about it and she gave me the details. I said that sounds really good it will get people in my door, sign me up. And i was a merchant the first year and then the next I was on the BIA board and I said ok I’ll be on your board if I can run art walk for you”.
Over the years Dye has seen a steady increase in the number of downtown business owners who wanted to be a part of this traditional summer event in the Lake City.
An opening walk for the Art Walk and Sale will start this morning at 11:30 beginning at Lake City Auto Care Mall
