MLA Talks About Potential Election Sign Bylaw In Quesnel

Quesnel City Council has directed staff to come up with a political sign bylaw that would limit the number of signs a candidate can have on public property.

Asked if she was in favour of the bylaw, Oakes says it is clearly the local government’s jurisdiction so she will go with whatever they decide.
She did say however that she was concerned about voter turnout as she says the signs remind everyone that an election is coming and gets conversations happening in communities.
