Alexis Creek RCMP responded Friday afternoon to a single vehicle collision on highway 20 west of Alexis Creek.
A 33 year old female from the Redstone Reserve was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor who had arrived to provide assistance. The other occupant, a 39 year old male, also from the Redstone Reserve, was airlifted by BC Ambulance Helicopter to hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition with undetermined injuries.
The cause of the collision is still being investigated.
Road conditions at the time were good with dry highways and good visibility.
