The community of Forest Grove came together to give support to one of their own in need.
On Sunday, the Forest Grove Legion Branch 261 hosted a fundraiser for Ron Lister, who was found after going missing for several hours in freezing conditions back on February 3rd near No-Name Lake.
The Legion said thanks to the generous contributions of Tasco, numerous local businesses, and support from Lister’s friends, acquaintances, and community members, nearly $13,000 was raised to aid in his recovery.
The Legion said they were honored to have played a role in supporting Lister and extended their deepest gratitude to all who contributed.
“A special thank you goes out to the local RCMP and South Cariboo Search and Rescue for their heroic efforts in finding and saving Ron in his most critical hours. Their dedication and service are truly commendable.” the Forest Grove Legion said, “We were especially touches to see people travel from Merritt, the Okanagan, and beyond to show their support.”
