Murder trial wraps up in Quesnel

A Quesnel woman, charged with second degree murder, will learn her fate in the spring.

The Supreme Court trial of 51-year old Lona Lynette Cole wrapped up today. (Wednesday)

The trial started at the end of May of last year and ran for several weeks before taking a break.

Final submissions were delivered this week and Madame Justice Church will now deliver her decision on April 25th.

Cole is also charged with manslaughter using a firearm.

The charges are in connection with the shooting death of Robert Douglas.

RCMP were called to a residence just outside of Quesnel off the Barkerville Highway on July 6, 2020.
