RCMP Receive ‘Positive Results” During Weekend Impaired Driving Checks

BC Highway Patrol and 100 Mile House RCMP partnered up for National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day and were met with “overall positive results”.

Sgt. Brian Lamb says that “well over a hundred” drivers were checked on December 7, with only three immediate prohibits handed out.

One driver received a prohibition of three days. Another prohibition for driving was issued for 90 days, that check included a driver with no driver’s license and open alcohol in the vehicle.

“At any time there could be, and potentially is an impaired driver on the road,” Lamb says. “It is good to see that people are not driving under the influence, using safe rides home, and planning for their nights out to make sure they get home safely.”

Police will continue proactive impaired driving enforcement throughout the holiday season.
