It’s Go Go Go Time For Operation Red Nose In Williams Lake

A familiar Holiday tradition will be back on the roads in Williams Lake to get you and your vehicle home safely.

Operation Red Nose will kick off 9-nights providing this service every Friday and Saturday starting tonight (November 29) to December 21st then again on New Years Eve.

Coordinator Deborah Pickering said volunteers will be ready to answer phones starting at 9 pm and

we asked Pickering there are boundaries any where Operation Red Nose drivers are limited to travelling to.

“There is a fluid boundary. What I mean by that is we try to keep the rides within a fifteen to twenty minute driving distance and that’s the 15 to 20 minutes back again for our teams. However if we’re not very busy and someone calls and says can we go a little bit further than that then we’ll play it by ear and we’ll try to accommodate them. It’s best if people just call us and ask because if we can drive you home we will. We try to keep the pickup and return to within half an hour but that’s not a hard and fast rule if we can do it.”

Pickering reminds those wanting to use Operation Red Nose that they don’t take reservations.

“But for all the Christmas parties we know about we try to give special consideration to where there are large groups of people going home from and it is first come, first serve. Even though i say you can’t reserve a ride you can call ahead of time on the days we offer this service. You can call me during the day and give me your information and the time that you think you want to go home and I’ll put that in the ride cue according to the time you want to go.”

Pickering added that if you don’t call in advance you should call us about 30 minutes before you think you are ready to go home just in case we’re really busy then we get your call in the cue and we have that information ready to come and get you.

To get you and your vehicle home safely call Operation Red Nose 250-392-2222.
