A pile burning project will be happening in the North Cariboo.
BC Wildfire Service and the Quesnel Natural Resource District will be conducting the work taking place along both sides of the access road into Titetown Lake.
It involves 11 hectares of manual labor off the Batnuni Road and burning is expected to begin on any day that the venting forecast is fair until November 15th.
Crews of 5 to 12 people will be working on both sides of the road and into the forested area and motorists are asked to use caution when driving the access road.
Smoke and flames may be visible from the road and surrounding areas along this area.
Ignitions and burning will only proceed if weather and site conditions are suitable and allow smoke to dissipate.
The Ministry of Forests has completed several wildfire risk reduction projects within the District including numerous ones in the Nazko and Tibbles Lake areas.
