Co-accused in Williams Lake stabbing case is sentenced in provincial court

338 days time served in jail and 12 months probation.

That was the sentenced handed down to 34-year old Daniel Cahoose, one of two people arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in Williams Lake.

Cahoose, originally charged with aggravated assault, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of assault.

51-year old Laura Taylor, who is also charged in connection with this incident, is due back in Supreme Court in February of next year for a Pre-Trial conference.

Williams Lake RCMP were called to a motel on 7th avenue back in May of last year.

Police said they were responding to a report of a person being stabbed multiple times.

RCMP say the victim was taken to hospital and was in stable condition.

Two suspects were quickly identified and were arrested at a home on 2nd Avenue with the aide of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services.
