Cariboo Chilcotin voters will now only have two candidates to choose from in the upcoming provincial election.
John Kidder of the BC Green Party who recently contracted COVID was unable to get the necessary number of signatures before the September 28th deadline for his nomination papers.
“I had frankly put off getting signatures for my nomination too late with full confidence that I would be able to get the 75 that I was required with the week I had in hand and then just knocked backwards by this virus and was unable to go out and do the work. I was made so stupid by the dam virus that I couldn’t even do tings online so it really just derailed me completely and I failed to get the necessary signatures.”
Kidder said he’s very sorry to the constituents in the Cariboo Chilcotin and to the people whom he asked to help him the last couple of days.
Even though he’s been sidelined and unable to run in this riding Kidder said he would be willing if he can to help BC Green Party candidates in other ridings like Lillooet and the West Vancouver Sea to Sky country.
With Kidder no longer on the ballot for the provincial election being held October 19th that leaves voters with two choices, BC Conservative Lorne Doerkson and BC NDP Michael Moses ofr the Cariboo Chilcotin riding.
