RCMP Investigating A Shooting In Lac La Hache

100 Mile House RCMP responded to a report of shots being fired and a person suffering from a gunshot wound at a residence in Lac La Hache.

Sargeant Brian Lamb said police attended the scene on the 3700 block off Highway 97 last night (September 24) at 9:20 and confirmed an adult male associated to the residence had been shot.

“The persons involved in the shooting were not at the scene and fled the area heading northbound on Highway 97 in what was believed to be a newer black truck.” Lamb stated in a release, “Emergency Health Services arrived and transported the man to hospital for injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.”

Lamb said a search warrant was completed at the residence where suspected drugs and related evidence were found.

He said at this time the suspects involved in the shooting remain outstanding and the incident is not believed to be random and it’s believed that persons involved are known to each other.

Anyone with information is asked to call 100 Mile House RCMP.

The investigation is ongoing.
