Man accused of assaulting officer and fleeing from police in Quesnel has been charged

Charges have now been laid after a suspect in a vehicle theft was apprehended after a brief foot chase in Quesnel last week.
26-year old Kyle Fredrick Ford is facing one count each of assaulting a peace officer, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property.
Ford remains in custody and is back in due back in court on Friday for a bail hearing.
Police say a member of the Crime Reduction Unit tried to arrest a man for being in possession of a stolen vehicle last Thursday. (September 12)
The suspect resisted arrest and after a brief struggle fled the scene on foot.
Police say he fled into a basement of a nearby residence on Elliott Street, but after a brief stand-off the man exited the building and was taken into custody without further incident.
