Cariboo temperatures heating up and likely carry through next week

Cariboo residents can enjoy Labour Day long weekend in the sun, with above seasonal temperatures.

The region is expected to reach into the mid to high 20’s, and is forecast to continue throughout next week.

Meteorologist, David Wray says the warmer temperatures is caused by a ridge of high pressure.

“Expecting some decent high temperatures. Looking at a high of 27 today for the Cariboo, overnight low of 12, and then a little bit warmer even for tomorrow, Sunday, High of 29.” says Wray.

“These numbers are about five to six degrees above normal so, very pleasant, but not expecting any record breaking temperatures. Just nice, warm conditions.”

Wray says the ridge looks to break down come Monday and Tuesday, with highs going down to 24.

He noted that the temperatures are forecast to rise again, returning to the high 20’s.
