What will happen with Dunrovin Park Lodge now that Quesnel is getting a new long-term care home ?
Northern Health says Dunrovin will continue to operate once the new facility opens, but it will no longer be used for long-term care beds.
The operation of the Hospice Care Unit at the lodge is not expected to be impacted by the new project as well.
Beyond that, Northern Health says it is still working to determine the best use of the space at Dunrovin Park.
The provincial government announced a new 288 bed long-term care facility for Quesnel on Tuesday.
It will replace 67 beds at Dunrovin and will be located at Cariboo Field on Roddis Drive in West Quesnel.
Construction is slated to begin in the fall of 2026 with the doors expected to open late in 2028.
