UPDATE: Charges laid in connection with knife threatening incident in downtown Quesnel

Charges have now been laid in connection with an incident in downtown Quesnel where RCMP say a man was threatening people with a knife.

33-year old Grant Leeson is facing one count each of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, and breach of a probation order.

Leeson remains in custody until his next court appearance on Friday for a bail hearing.

RCMP were called to the 800 block of Reid Street yesterday afternoon at 4:22 p.m.

Police say it was for a report of a man threatening multiple people with a knife.

Fortunately no one was hurt.

Quesnel RCMP made an arrest after a man threatened people with a knife.

Police responded to the report on July 30th, at around 4:22pm, where multiple people had been threatened in the 800 Block of Front Street.

Sergeant Clay Kronebusch said “the 33-year-old man was located and has been arrested.”

The man is being held in custody and will appear before a Judge later today.
