BC Wildfire Crews are continuing to battle the Moose Valley wildfire, which remains out of control.
The fire, which is 11 kilometres southwest of 108 Mile and 13 kilometres northwest of 100 Mile House, is currently listed as 290 hectares, and has a full response deployed.
Fire Information Officer, Jeromy Corrigan says the fire remains visible to the community of 100 Mile House and the surrounding areas.
“As of right now, BC Wildfire Service continues to have firefighters, heavy equipment, and aviation resources on this wildfire.” says Corrigan.
“Machine guards have completed, except for some skidding and decking operations around the fire. Plan for ignitions to clean-up the southwest flank to the guard are currently underway.”
Corrigan says some crews are continuing to tight-line mop up on the north side of the wildfire, but still lots of work to be done.
Smoke will be visible for anyone travelling in that area, and could affect visibility.
Favourable conditions could be on the way, as he says precipitation is on the forecast for the Quesnel area on Sunday, as well as 5-10 millimetres of precipitation in the 100 Mile Zone on Monday.
Corrigan noted that it could even reach 20 millimetres in some areas.
