There was a shooting in the North Cariboo last (Jan 31) night.
Quesnel RCMP were called out to the Red Bluff Reserve at around 9-46.
Sargeant Darren Dodge, Media Relations Officer at the Detachment, says members attended and located a 38-year old female suffering from a gunshot wound.
He says a 49-year old male was located nearby and taken into custody.
Dodge says the female has since been transferred to hospital in Vancouver where she remains in serious condition.
Dodge confirms that the two people involved did know each other but no other details have been released.
An investigation continues and RCMP are asking anyone with information to call them or Crime Stoppers.
