Cariboo region gearing up for Canada Day celebrations

Canada Day is around the corner, and the Cariboo is preparing for the country’s 157th birthday.

The City of Williams Lake will be having its celebration back in Boitanio Park, instead of Kiwanis Park years prior.

Child and Youth Recreation Coordinator, Emma Davidson said they’re excited to bring the event back to Boitanio Park, as the larger space allows for more opportunities for activities, entertainers, food and marketplace vendors.

The event will begin at 2:00pm with opening remarks from local dignitaries and a welcome to traditional Secwepemc territory, with musical entertainers and activities such as mega games, bouncy castles and more until 5:00pm.

More information about the Canada Day events in Williams Lake can be found on the City’s website here.

Quesnel will be holding their Canada Day event at LeBourdais Park starting at 12:00pm, with opening ceremonies and various activities until 4:00pm.

100 Mile House’s event at the 108 Mile Heritage Site from 10:00am to 3:00pm, with their opening ceremonies and activities.
