Parade Fans In Williams Lake Getting Geared Up For Saturday

The Annual Williams Lake Stampede Parade will be hitting the street this Saturday morning starting at ten.

Parade Organizer Willie Dye said they have a good number of entries for this year’s event as he expecting about 80 entries to entertain the crowd that will be lined up along the route.

The past Stampede Queen, now living in Australia, will be coming home to be a part of parade and afterwards Dye says there will be a reception at the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin along with another royal surprise.

After that’s over we’re taking all the Stampede Queens to the Stampede Grounds and they are all going to be ushered in on the flat deck I believe and introduced to the crowd.”

Dye noted that the Stampede Parade is something both residents and visitors look forward to every year.

If you drive down the street of Williams Lake at 7 am to go to start the registration process you don’t see many people sitting on the street but you do see where they’ve come along and “planted” their chairs to save a spot to watch the parade.”

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
