Those caught hunting or fishing illegally in British Columbia are now facing fines more than twice as high.
The new fine structure, which went into effect yesterday (Monday), is the first significant increase in penalties in more than 20 years.
The cost of being caught hunting or fishing illegally will now run from 345-dollars to almost 15-hundred.
The province issued more than one-thousand tickets for Wildlife Act offences last year, with the total fines exceeding 200-thousand dollars.
