Alexis Creek water system issued a boil water notice

The Cariboo Regional District has issued a boil water notice for the Alexis Creek water system.

The issue was made by the request of a Drinking Water Officer, due to low pressure being caused by a hydro pump failure.

In a release, the CRD asks users of the water system to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using for cooking and consumption, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and watering animals.

They also ask users to use hand sanitizer after washing hands.

The CRD has requested for Interior Health’s cooperation while repairs are performed, which will be underway.

The notice will remain in effect until another public notice is issued by the request of a Drinking Water Officer.

More information regarding the boil water notice can be found on the Cariboo Regional District’s website here.
