Williams Lake Fire Department’s Day Ends Responding To A WildLand Fire

The Williams Lake Fire Department was on scene of a wild land fire last night (Thursday).

Assistant Fire Chief Cory Boyd said they responded just before 8 pm and upon arrival discovered a 30 by 30 foot fire involving trees and a vehicle one kilometre down a trail off Bond Lake Road.

Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire and Boyd said they requested BC Wildfire Service to come and do assessments on the trees that had burned significantly.

Boyd added they responded with the Chief truck, an Engine, a Tender, with another Engine stationed on Bond Lake Road supplying extra manpower.

In total 15 firefighters were on scene and were supported by RCMP and a Conservation Officer in locating the fire.
