Power outages hit the Cariboo as wind and damaged wires roll across the region

Strong winds and downed trees cause thousands of Cariboo residents to lose power.

One of the larger outages listed by BC Hydro, is being caused by a downed tree across their wires, affecting 1329 customers in Horsefly and the surrounding areas.

Second is affecting 2949 customers affecting Sheridan Lake and the surrounding areas, caused by a downed tree across their wires.

Crews have been assigned to both locations.

Big Bar Creek area, west of 70 Mile House, and the Green Lake area, north east of 70 Mile House, are both experiencing outages affecting a total of 727 customers.

Crews have not been assigned to either locations.
