The Williams Lake Job Fair is taking place at the Cariboo Memorial Complex, and is seeing more employers take part.
The fair, hosted by the Supporting Aboriginal Growth and Empowerment (S.A.G.E) Trainers, has roughly 60 employers ranging from First Nations, the City, and other services within the community.
Job Fair Coordinator, Yvonne Funk says the amount of people stopping by has seen an increase.
“We’re over 600 today, and the previous one was 900 to 1,000 over the two days, so we’ve already surpassed our last job fair.”
Funk added a lot of people stopping by are high school students, but says its a good mix with adults taking part.
She says this is a great opportunity for anyone to meet face to face with those hiring and get any information needed.
Community Development Worker with Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training Employment Centre, Janine Alphonse says the event is important to the Province at large, as people from Alberta visit.
The job fair will be continuing today, May 9th, from 10:00am to 3:00pm in rink two of the Cariboo Memorial Complex.
