South Cariboo Economy Showing Positive Signs

The economy is doing alright in the South Cariboo.

That was the message from Councilor Spence Henderson from the District of 100 Mile House who gave a presentation to the Chamber of Commerce last week.

The business stability numbers were particularly encouraging says the Councilor, who shares a couple figures from his presentation with us:

Stability of the business community? 90% renewal of business licenses year after year for the last five years… and we’ve averaged four hundred licensed businesses for the last five years. So, fifteen hundred people in 100 Mile, four hundred businesses, that’s not bad.

Henderson was also quick to point out the numerous business renovations and relocation-s that took place through twenty-fifteen as further indicators that the South Cariboo is weathering the storm.

Something going on in the Cariboo you think people should know about?
