2015 was a very busy year for the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department.
Deputy Fire Chief Mike Russell says they responded to 374 calls this past year which was up from 349 in 2014.
There were 17 structure fires, up from 12, and 8 mill fires.
That was actually down from 15 the previous year.
Russell says other important stats include about 999 thousand dollars in property lost but more than 1.16 billion dollars in property saved.
Quesnel’s volunteer firefighters provided the community with 3,851 man hours and the department publicly educated more than 7100 people.
