A vehicle fire prompted the response of the Williams Lake Fire Department.
At around 6:30 this morning, two apparatus, one command vehicle, and 11 firefighters arrived on scene at Mackenzie Ave North near Maple Street.
Upon arrival, Director of Protective Services, Evan Dean says it didn’t take long to identify the vehicle in flames.
“When our duty officer arrived, he quickly identified that it was a City of Williams Lake plow truck, and it was fully involved and spreading to a nearby power pole.”
Dean added crews were on scene for roughly an hour, before turning the scene over to the City.
The cause of the fire is unknown, which he says the City fleet and ICBC will be looking into what specifically caused the fire, however the fire department didn’t see anything suspicious at the time.
