100 Mile House Wrangler Alumni re-signs with NHL team

Former 100 Mile House Wrangler, Clay Stevenson has re-signed with the Washington Capitals.

The Capitals made the announcement yesterday morning, and will see one of the top American Hockey League (AHL) rookie goaltenders stick around for three years, with a contract worth $2.325 million.

In a release from the Capitals, Stevenson’s contract will be a two-way contract for the first year ($750,000/$200,000), and the final two years being one-way ($750,000).

24 year old Stevenson, who’s currently with the Hershey Bears AHL team, has already been putting up impressive numbers, ranking 1st in goals against average (1.70) and shutouts (4), along with being second in save percentage (0.934).

Stevenson previously signed a two year entry-level contract with the Capitals back in March of 2022, and has yet to play a regular season game.

The full release of the re-signing can be found on the Washington Capitals Website here.
